Executive Training Program

Our Store Manager Trainee, or Manager in Training (MIT) Program, is a great place for graduating seniors to start their careers!

The 3-5 month training program is designed to give you experience in all the key areas of store operations. It will also prepare you for a position as an Assistant Store Manager, where you'll be running your own multimillion dollar business within an area of the store.

As a Manager in Training, you'll learn:

  • Managerial and leadership development
  • Merchandising and marketing
  • Finances and sales
  • Department ownership
  • How to interact with District and Regional Managers

    • Our Store Manager Trainee program is designed to teach you about Kohl's high operational standards, merchandising guidelines, culture, customer service philosophy and business strategies. This structured training also includes:

    • One-on-one mentoring
    • Classroom training
    • Computer-based training
    • On-the-job training

    You'll also learn about creating and implementing a leadership development plan, recruiting and interviewing.

    Based on your development through the program, you may be placed as an Assistant Store Manager in a Kohl's store!
